October 1 - Cork

Wednesday was another strange weather day - but we thought we had a clear morning, with rain expected in the afternoon. Mimi, Poppa, Adaline and I decided to head up to the Shandon neighborhood in Cork to visit the Butter machine and St. Ann's church.
Mimi and Poppa outside their home for ten days.
Another of the many bridges in Cork!

The Butter Museum was actually quite good - I would recommend it to visitors! Adaline enjoyed it - said it was her favorite part of the day! We had no idea how the butter industry was so big here... Fortunately we bought some Kerry Gold butter our first day here.
St. Ann's church is beautiful - and it started raining suddenly after we left the Butter Museum, so we were glad to run in for a look. They say all four clocks on the tower show different times so it is known as the lying clock! We didn't go to the top, which is what you are supposed to do - with Adaline in tow, it would have been too much.
During another surprise rain shower, we wandered into a flower shop. The shop owner suggested we eat lunch at Amicus - and it was fabulous!!
We had a big night! Adaline went poo-poo in the potty! While this might not seem like a big deal, trust me... After having to clean up the mess we've had lately, Bryan and I were THRILLED to have her finally use the potty... She got ice cream as a treat - and hopefully she will keep up her new-found skill...
