Fortunately the people reading this blog love me regardless of my political junkie tendencies... :) Since we are missing the election today in the US, I wanted to do something special to celebrate the big day from Ireland. We made Election Day signs, placemats, and "musical instruments." Adaline had a great time making everything, and even helped me sweep up the den, which most impressed Bryan when he got home.
For some reason, Adaline comes home from school looking so cute (see above) and then promptly changes into her princess outfit, which she refuses to take off until bedtime. I apologize for the pictures below where she exposes herself to the world! :)

We put our signs on the door for Daddy's arrival home from work.

The American Flag placemats DO have stars in the left corner - just can't see it in these pictures...

Daddy brought home Election Day presents which added to the festive evening!

Mimi and Poppie sent a care package that arrived today (perfect timing for our party!). Adaline was excited to get a new Curious George video.

The paper plates are actually "instruments" - they were colored on the outside and filled with pasta. Quite melodious sounds when we sang "America the Beautiful..."
Finally, we voted on what utensils to use at dinner - spoons or forks. The spoons won 2 to 1. :) Yes - I am a nerd! But fun was had by all...
I am still awake at 12:30 my time watching the election - but I think I will now call it a night. CNN International sucked me in, but the aren't calling anything new right now - so I am off to bed. Hope you all voted!
