November 2 - Ballymaloe and Lismore

On the way to Ballymaloe, we found a statue of Christy Ring, a famous hurler.
Ballymaloe is a beautiful country home that also hosts a famous cooking school. There was a wedding party that was there over the weekend, but we sneaked in for a view as they were all checking out. Adaline was being a bit of a diva during our morning drive, as you can see below.

We decided Adaline's poor behavior the night before might have been because she didn't get to play enough - so we built in lots of running around time!

I was very interested in the shop - more Christmas shopping! :) The woman working behind the counter was very kind - and recommended a beautiful beach with a playground adjacent to it that was only 15 minutes away. To say Adaline was happy with the playground would be an understatement...

The beach was beautiful!!!

Daddy needed some help coming down the slide. :)

Bryan said he really liked this big slide - we may have to get one for our backyard. :)

We then drove through some beautiful countryside to Lismore. While we knew the castle wouldn't be open, we still thought it would be a beautiful place to visit - and it was!
"The Lismore Experience" museum is housed in the old courthouse. We learned the history of Lismore and got to see a few pictures of the castle in a video. Adaline enjoys "watching movies" at the museums.

This Catholic Church is quite young by Irish standards - but pretty old compared to US standards...
The castle was AMAZING!! If we get to come back to Ireland during the peak season, I definitely want to go back to Lismore.
