School newsletter

The picture puzzled cousin Amy - yes, our daughter loves tape. She comes home at least once a week with tape all over her clothes. At first, something about it bothered me - she would take the tape off and put it different places in the house.

The newly discovered fun aspect of this tape extravaganza is that Adaline is learning her colors. I suppose she has known them for quite some time - but when she comes home with 8 different colored pieces of tape on her, it is great fun quizzing her on what colors are where.

Adaline is learning counting quite well - apparently one of her "buddies," as she calls her school friends, was saying she had two balls when she actually had one ball. Adaline calmly explained to her buddy "no, you only have one. I have two." :)

Bryan thinks she is brillant. And then we see pictures of her with tape all over her body, and we are reminded that she is normal. :)

Snow in Athens

Yes - we actually had snow in Athens! I blamed it on our friend, Leigh Burwell Smith, who was down visiting from Vermont - she must have brought it with her. For mid-January in the middle of a drought, it was quite exciting to see big, heavy flakes of snow falling in Athens, Georgia. Adaline was entranced and kept asking if it was rain. :)

None of the snow stuck, however, making for a very sad Bryan who hoped for a day off from teaching! It was certainly beautiful and made us hope for more in February. Leigh - can you work on that for us?
