It took the Jordan family coming to Athens to get us to take Adaline down to her first Georgia football tailgate. Of course, we demonstrated our lack of knowledge of tailgating on North Campus - we chose the one parcel of land where no one else wanted to tailgate! :) Adaline and little Lawton enjoyed playing together - just before the Jordans started down to the game, Adaline apparently warmed up enough to give Lawton kisses and hugs. Too cute.

Karen (a good friend and one of Bryan's students) joined us, as did our visitor from Australia, Donna. Donna had never been to a major U.S. football game - she went to a Harvard game before coming to Athens to stay with us - but Harvard doesn't have quite the crowds we do. Karen and Donna stayed for the first three quarters of the game and had a good time - until they got back to where Karen had parked her car. As Adaline now says Karen was "sad" because her car had been "towed..." Hopefully our homecooked dinner cheered Karen up!

We had such a good time getting to catch up with Lawton, Jennifer, and Lawton IV Jordan. We keep encouraging them to consider moving to Athens - they are lots of fun to talk to and discuss politics with over a meal. We hope to get the kids together again soon.
Adaline is now saying "Go Dawgs!" without being prompted, which I love. The other day, she said "Aubie," which broke her dad's heart - Mimi got her an Auburn shirt with Aubie on it. To counteract that, Bryan has, of course, taught her to say "roll tide!" There's nothing like football in the south!
