Ice cream is delicious!

Yes... She is her mother's child... :)

Team cheers

We are a very fair household and cheer for MANY teams, as you can see in this little video clip... Let us know if you have a favorite team you would like included in the future. :)

Adaline's first bible verse

Debra Lassiter gave Adaline a darling book called "Miss Fannie's Hats." In it, Miss Fannie (a 99 year old woman) shares her favorite bible verse, and Adaline has memorized it - "with God, all things are possible."

I must admit, we have read the book so many times that it occassionally "disappears" for a night here and there - but it always reappears, I promise!

Calling RaRa

After a busy family day, Adaline decided she had some phone calls to make on Mommy's cell phone. In this clip, she is calling RaRa (aka Grammy) to tell her that we ate at the Varsity.

The Varsity

After having a wonderful time at Family Day at the Zoo, we decided to treat Adaline to The Varsity. If you haven't been, it is quite an experience - and will likely help clog your arteries! :) It is one of those things, though, that you have to enjoy every so often...
Adaline LOVED her first ever Frosted Orange. She wasn't willing to share with Mommy and Daddy! You may also be able to see how she peeled the bread off her hamburger. Too funny!
What a great family day we had!

Family Day at the Zoo Part Two!

After walking through the zoo, we visited the petting zoo they had set up for Family Day. Adaline was finally a little more daring and decided to give "gentle touches" to the animals... Here she is with some goats.
Here is a fluffy chicken - Bryan and I were quite impressed with all its fluff!

Back to the baby goats...

Family Day at the Zoo!

Living in a small town has its pros and cons - and one of the pros about Athens is the fun family activities offered through Leisure Services. We spent some time at Family Day at the Zoo recently, and Adaline had such a great time!
This is right outside Pickle the alligators home. They are trying to raise money for a new facility for him to live in - if you are looking to donate money, this would be a great option! :)
Adaline wasn't sure about the animals that were available for touching - like snakes and turtles... She was willing to carefully look at the animals in cages, however. We tried teaching her that animals are our friends. That may take more work!
Getting her hand painted was a highlight!
Still working on touching the animals...
We stopped to check out the otters, and they were having fun celebrating family day, too!

Staying with Mimi and Poppa

Mommy and Daddy recently had an "adult" weekend while attending the Leadership Georgia alumni weekend at St. Simons - it was great fun catching up with favorite friends in beautiful places...

Adaline also had fun that weekend getting spoiled by Mimi and Poppa - and here are the pictures to prove it!
Mimi lets Adaline wear her flip-flops around the house, which Adaline loooooooooves!
I couldn't figure out which picture was better, so I included two. This is Adaline with her best friend at school, Dain. We are very sad because Dain is leaving this summer - I am very sad for Adaline because she LOVES Dain! I know that friends come and go, but this is her first real friend... We are trying to get her prepared, but how do you rationalize things with a two year old?
Adaline loves her teachers - and Mimi got to attend the "Mother's Day Snack Break" in my place and spend time with Adaline's class. Here she is with Ms. Cori, and below with Ms. Elaine. I'm not sure about Adaline's face below - but it made me laugh. And it is a beautiful picture of Ms. Elaine - if only Adaline was smiling... :)
Mimi wasn't pushing Adaline high enough, so Dain's mommy stepped in... :)

Bryan taught Adaline how to do that with her eyes - and it makes us laugh so hard when she does it out of the blue. She is trying to look up with her eyes. Ha!
Adaline went to Mother's Day brunch with Mimi and Poppa on Sunday - and she loved getting all dressed up with her fancy shoes. Mimi even found one of my old hair bows and made Adaline feel extra grown-up. Too cute.
As you can tell, it was a fun weekend for all! Hope you had a good Mother's Day weekend as well.

The Bath Dance

This dance somewhat speaks for itself, but just in case - Adaline learned a "bath dance" from Bryan (who was trying to get some help with shampoo in Adaline's hair!). Enjoy!

Dinner with the Hoots

Adaline is getting ready for Britton and his family to arrive. She was so excited!
Britton and Adaline were so excited to play together! It was fun to have the Hoots over for an evening of burgers and ice cream... We look forward to getting together again soon.

More outdoor fun...

Another cute video with bubbles! I tried to get her to sing "Glory, Glory to old Georgia," but she could only remember the first two words... Oh well.

Dancing Outside!

Yesterday was a fun day with lots of outside time in the afternoon. Adaline was in a great mood (despite wearing an Alabama dress...), and we had such a good time as a family. Enjoy!

Our little chef!

We are still practicing the correct way to smile - but these pictures were too cute not to post...

Angel Adaline

Last weekend Adaline asked to put on her angel costume - thought you would enjoy this cute picture...

Taking in Some Culture!

We had a great time at the Georgia Museum of Art "Family Day" festivities one Saturday. Adaline got to pick out what she wanted to wear (which didn't really match the weather report - shorts and sleeveless on a day in the 60's???). She was most delighted that it was raining, and she was able to wear her new raincoat (thanks, RaRa!).
We got to see a puppet/magic show about Earth Day. Adaline enjoyed it for about five minutes, and then wanted to do something else... She was a wee bit crabby all morning - but she was a pretty good sport about trying new things.
Adaline helped make her own hand puppet, which she named "Mommy" - it has been riding around in the backseat of the blue car ever since.
Before we left, they gave Adaline these cool, sparkly glasses! A real highlight of visiting the Art Museum!
Big hugs for Mommy!

School Picnic

Adaline and her classmates were SO excited about their school picnic, which was the day after the class field trip - how much excitement can a class of two year olds handle??? :) Here is Adaline with one of her teachers, Ms. Heather.
Adaline and her best friend, Dain, were so excited to see each other.
After eating, the kids in Adaline's class ran around in a pack together. Here is Noah, Adaline, Harper, and Caroline.
Adaline got to stay up past her bedtime, which was fun for her - exhausting for Bryan and me. All in all - a very fun picnic!
