Mimi's birthday!

Last night was a big birthday for Mimi (you can ask her which one it was - but I think she might have been repeating number 25...). Adaline was excited to go to the "party," which was a fun dinner at Depalma's. Bryan and I were so proud of Adaline - she was well behaved throughout the entire meal - she didn't squirm, she didn't squeal, she didn't cry (except when she left!) - she was a big girl! We tried to heap on the praise to encourage such great behavior.
Adaline helped Mimi open her gifts...
and was especially happy to help Mimi eat her cake! She wanted another piece, but since it was already past her bedtime, we decided one was plenty! Thank goodness it wasn't a big one. Happy birthday, Mimi!

Week of the Child Part 2

This top picture is the perfect picture to introduce today's field trip to the track! Adaline and her classmates had SO much fun. On the way over, they were all babbling about the field trip and how fun it was - and we hadn't even reached our destination yet! The kids were very excited...
Everyone was loaded up in wagons and the touring machine. It made quite the scene walking towards the track. :)

Mommy was most excited about the kids going on the football practice field - they seemed nonplussed!
The minute they got out of the wagons, they were off! Here are Adaline, Dain, and Britton running towards the sand pit in the middle of the track.
Bryan tried to demonstrate how you run and jump into the sand - but the kids were more excited about a giant sandbox than running and jumping!
I teased Ms. Cori and Ms. Heather about taking naps with the kids - they are such great teachers and play as hard as the kids when there are special moments like today. Adaline is very blessed to have wonderful, loving teachers.

Whew! Everyone was pooped out on the way back. What a fun field trip. We can't wait for the next one!

Week of the Child Part 1

This week at Adaline's school is "Week of the Child" - so we are doing fun things centered around the kids in her class! Monday morning the parents were invited to join the Young Toddlers for breakfast - yummy bagels and oranges. Here are two shots from Adaline's table - she is sitting next to Wyatt and Caroline.

Angel wings

This weekend we got Adaline some "angel wings" which she loves. She did not love wearing big girl panties, however, so this is the only picture of her from before the meltdown that soon followed - apparently while Daddy was gone she decided she didn't like to peepee on the potty!

Ka-boomie

Auntie Sharon asked for an explanation of a "kaboomie" - so here is some video for you... Enjoy!

School picture

We got Adaline's monthly newsletter from school, and this is her picture - she is already becoming crafty and loves stringing beads together. Will she one day love cross-stitch like her mommy? I sure hope so!

Easter Sunday

Adaline had a great Easter - and apparently was a good girl because the Easter bunny left her basket at Mimi and Poppa's! The highlight was an Abby Caddaby backpack (a new character on Seseme Street for the old timers!).
The Easter Bunny even found an Abby Caddaby water bottle! Oh my.
In our attempt to catch the ever elusive cute smile with a digital camera, Bryan told Adaline to laugh while Mommy took her picture - here is the cute laugh!
If only the lighting was better on this one - what a great smile. She just started crossing her arms across her chest - no idea where that came from!
What a great Easter! Many thanks to Mimi for the yummy brunch.
